Brief Background
The Problem
A Social Dementia!
The Mission
To identify and fill the missing link between today’s generations and the Golden Era of Islam.
The Solution
A Community Initiative which restores that link:
LINCS Project!
Our Objectives
Community Improvement
Allah Says,
"He brought their hearts together. Had you spent all the riches in the earth, you could not have united their hearts. But Allah has united them. Indeed, He is exalted in might and wise." (Anfal)
Improving the Average Muslim's Life Spiritually, Mentally and Physically
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
"The stronger believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive to seek that which will benefit you and do not feel helpless. If something overwhelms you, then say: Qaddarallah, wa ma sha'a fa’al (It is the decree of Allah and what He wills He does). And beware of (saying) ‘If only,’ for ‘If only’ opens the door to Satan.”
Fulfil Our Communal Role
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم saying,
"People are like gold and silver; those who were the best in Jahiliyyah (Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance) are the best in Islam, as long as they have religious understanding; and the souls are like collected troops, they mix with those who are similar to them in qualities and drift away from those who do not share their qualities". (Muslim)
Our Values
Spirituality
Allah says, “Success is really attained by him who purifies his heart, and failure is really suffered by him who pollutes it.”
The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم emphasized the importance of purifying the heart stating:
“Verily, there is a piece of flesh in the body, if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Verily, it is the heart."
At LINCS we nurture this spirituality fostering a deeper connection to faith, enhancing our moral character and inspiring transformation through education. We cultivate inner strength and become effective points of change in our community.
Proactiveness
Proactiveness is taking initiative and being prompt in doing good deeds. It is emphasized in the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah صلىالله عليه وسلم said:
"Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like parts of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn disbeliever in the morning and sell his Faith for worldly goods."
This hadith encourages doing good deeds proactively before it's too late. The result of proactiveness is captured in the saying that Allah will take ten steps towards those who take one step towards Him and run towards those who walk towards Him.
A Strong Identity
In the context of a modern world facing various trials and "isms," a strong identity generates a deep understanding and of one's faith. Cultivating a strong identity provides a sense of belonging, confidence, and purpose, which will lead to the fulfilment a human need.
At LINCS we embrace our identity and find the resilience to overcome obstacles and stay true to our principles, ultimately striving to be the best Muslims and humans.
Fitness
The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليهوسلم emphasized the importance of physical fitness:
“The stronger believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although both are good."
At LINCS by following this prophetic teaching, we can lead healthier lives, increase our productivity, and positively influence others.
